Scholarship of Engagement (SoE)
The UWC recognises the importance of engaged scholarships. This is especially reflected in the strategic decisions made at an executive level to engage in partnership initiatives that are aligned with the Institutional Operational Plan (IOP) and student graduate attributes that reflect the vision, ethos, and history of the UWC.
Engaged scholarship consists of all the forms of scholarly activity by the university. It is thus “.... processes of mutual engagement which are directed towards the development, improvement, and enhancement of both the ‘community’ and the university through applied scholarship...”.
